School Network Administrator (40 weeks per annum) (Hanwell W7)

Brentside High School Salary Scale 34 36 29427 30744)pro rata We require as soon as possible at this very successful mixed multi-ethnic 11-19 comprehensive school of 1250 students a Network Administrator. Reporting to the ecurriculum Manager the Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day running of the school network. The Network Administrator s chief responsibility is to ensure that the schools Local Area Network (Lan) is operational and remains accessible to staff and students on a 24 hour basis. A brief overview of the main duties of the Network Administrator follows 1. Maintenance of all servers and workstations. 2. Resolution of hardware and software issues including software installation. 3. Maintenance of user and email accounts. 4. Supervision of back-up schedule and data retrieval. 5. Supervision and maintenance of security anti-virus schedule. 6. Supervision and Maintenance of asset tracking database (software hardware 7. Supervision of technicians. 8. Liaising with support agencies and remote support specialists where necessary. 9. Maintaining a secure and safe computing environment for all staff and students. Candidates should have at least 2 years experience of managing a large Windows Network and therefore have a thorough understanding of Active Directory. Microsoft Certification is desirable but not essential. A good level of education is expected and candidates should be fluent proficient in English. The post also demands that the candidate has excellent interpersonal skills and experience of providing first and second level support in a diverse and fast moving educational environment.
